Where do I get 24hr in room Deep Tissue massage? What are the benefits of a swedish massage? Massage Solutions has the answer! Most may consider a one hour swedish or deep tissue massage to be a luxury, but did you know that the average person places such strain and stresses upon their body on a daily basis, that some form of treatment in necessary at least twice a week? Lets think about it….
Hunched over the computer all day causes neck and shoulder pain. Long periods of sitting causes knee ache, pelvic pain (the sit-bones), vericose veins, reduced blood flow, and usually low back ache. Carrying a purse, heavy item, or bag over one shoulder causes mis-alignment of the spine and shoulder girdle. How many times do you twist while driving the car? Reach for your keys with hands full of stuff balanced precariously on the legs? How many mom’s out there put the baby on the hip?
All these daily activities build up the stresses throughout the day, and no matter how many workplace safety and “proper lifting” notices are placed, do you “squat” to pick up a dropped pencil, or do the ballerina balance with one leg out behind you? We all know the answer!
Swedish massage is beneficial for the circulatory system, enhancing the flow of blood throughout the tissues, eliminating toxins, increasing removale of wastes from the system, thereby enhancing skin and muscle tone.
Deep tissue work breaks up the knots and fibers entangled within the belly of muscle fibers through bad posture, excessive strain, and even routine exercise. Combined with sports massage techniques, this is extremely effective in restoring and repairing normal tissue wear and tear that occurs in all of us throughout the day.
Neck and Shoulder release methods should become habit, and are available, to a degree, for self massage. A few simple maneuvers before bedtime will re-align the fibers within the neck, shoulders, and cervical spine. Fifteen to twenty minutes while watching tv releases tension, and going to sleep allows the body to repair without additional strain.
Accupressure is an often misinterpreted modality. Though it has effects and benefits upon the musculature system and internal organs, the focus of this practice is upon the energy body of an individual. By restoring the balance of energy flow, the physical body has the “charge” necessary to perform. This will never release the knots in your muscles, but it will restore healthy functioning to reduce the creation of these knots.
Reflexology is also an energy work modality, targeting points within the hands, feet, and ears corresponding with (linked to) specific organs and tissues throughout the body. Using similar energy meridians as acupunture and accupressure, Reflexology likens to pushing an “on” button, to stimulate the flow of energy along the line to target and energize a specific organ, giving it an infusion of energy. This can also be learned as a self massage method, given whenever you are ready.
When looking for your personal massage therapist, look for those who suit your needs. Some work only in spas, while others have offices, and some are outcall and will come to your home. Always check for licensing, and be sure they are offering the services you want.
Talk to the therapist, and be sure they listen to you. Never be afraid to end a session if you are uncomfortable, or the therapist is not attune to your needs, meaning they having little or no sensitivity of “touch.” Each therapist has a different style, and not every therapist is for every body. Communication is key to your treatment, and though the therapist is well trained, we are not mind readers!
Take care of yourself and your body!
Namaste!
